Churches that I attended in the past were sometimes judgmental toward people for different beliefs. UU churches accept you for what you believe in and do not try to force theirs on you. Everyone has different beliefs and opinions.
These people are a small community and have become my friends over the years. We all show our appreciation toward each other. Two members have got me into bike riding which we started a few years ago. Now I’m doing it on my own as well as riding with them. We all help out each other.
I think we all yearn to make some kind of connection greater than ourselves. Maybe it’s the congregation, maybe it’s the building or maybe it is the UU message, but the place appeals to me and I really believe a lot of people that are disenfranchised with traditional religion might find this one to their liking.
